![]() Timeline is for editing, not for converting. All I want is editing regardless what the file now and will be later. What about data consistency? What do I need the bins for, when bins don't even save the original source path of the offline file beside the bin to help me to reproduce the path or to relink the file?ĪMA linking is just another typical AVID work around to av(o)id working on the actual problem: What does the timeline care about file properties? Why linking or importing. What about offline editing (proxy files relink) and portable projects? In which century we work on media clips that we are forced on MXF files in the root of an HD? Even freeware editing software is able to handle switching paths and source files regardless of changed properties or even regardless of changed codec or filetype or name. Huge project for months with Avid in general seems to be the rather proof of bravery here, Pat. Huge project for months with AMA your a very brave man Gregg. i have been loving AMAing all my DSLR footage, nary a problem, plenty fast, no consolidating.too good to be true? Any thoughts on this? I swear I remember something about a single frame lenght issue long ago. Yes I tried tossing project settings, (only happens on this project) tried time machine version from last week, new user, sacrificed a goat.you know, the usual. it may be incompatible with the original.type rate track duration. When I just AMA link to the file and create a new one, by god it is one frame shorter.WTF? So I can reedit these 6 files in but still.scary. Half of my files are unlinked.I go to relink ama and all but 6 don't, saying unable to relink ama clip to selected file. ![]() ![]() ![]() I said yes and then the "serious error" error comes up. Open a huge project with all ama linked media.working on it for months and today it goes thru some relinking as it opens.then errors out saying these 6 files didn't relink, wanna try. Symph 6.0.4 on Imac lion.all works great. ![]()
